Qualification:
B.Tech and/ Or MBA in Marketing
Experience: Proven experience of at least 7+ years in the General Insurance industry, with focus on sales and business development.
Location: PAN India - All Major Cities

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated professional to join our team as an Area Manager. The position offers opportunities to work in various locations across India. The Area Manager will be responsible for managing and driving business growth in their assigned area, ensuring effective implementation of sales strategies, and achieving sales targets. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the general insurance industry, with a preference for candidates with an engineering or MBA in Marketing qualification.


Key Responsibilities:
 

  1. Develop and implement sales strategies to drive business growth in the assigned area, including identifying potential markets, customer segments, and distribution channels.
  2. Manage a team of sales executives and agents, providing leadership, guidance, and support to ensure effective execution of sales plans and achievement of targets.
  3. Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences, translating insights into actionable strategies and tactics.
  4. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching and training to the sales team to enhance their skills and improve sales performance.
  5. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, such as brokers, dealerships, corporate clients, and other distribution partners, to maximize business opportunities and customer satisfaction.
  6. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies in all sales activities, promoting a culture of ethics and integrity within the team.
  7. Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), such as sales volume, policy retention, customer satisfaction, and profitability, taking appropriate actions to drive improvement.
  8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including underwriting, claims, marketing, and customer service, to address customer needs, resolve issues, and enhance the overall customer experience.
  9. Prepare and present periodic reports to senior management, providing updates on sales performance, market trends, challenges, and opportunities in the assigned area.
  10. Stay updated with industry developments, market dynamics, and regulatory changes that may impact the general insurance business, adapting strategies and plans accordingly.
  11. Ensure recruitment, onboarding, and training of new insurance agents.
  12. Monitor agent performance, provide feedback, and ensure adherence to company policies and regulations.
  13. Ensure effective manpower planning for the region and work with HR to ensure appropriate staffing levels
  14. Maintaining the administrative infrastructure of the branches of the assigned area.


About You
 
  1. Strong understanding of the insurance market, including products, distribution channels, and customer segments.
  2. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team to achieve sales targets and deliver exceptional results.
  3. Strong sales and negotiation skills, with a track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets in a competitive environment.
  4. Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  5. Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making and a focus on delivering results.
  6. Familiarity with sales tools to track sales activities, analyse data, and monitor performance.
  7. Willingness to travel within the assigned area to meet with stakeholders, conduct sales visits.
  8. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
  9. Strong computer knowledge – Proficient in data monitoring, analysis & representation using Microsoft Office tools.
