Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic legal professional to join our team as AGM/ Manger – Legal.
The candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing all legal matters related to Motor Accident Claims Tribunal (MACT), Workmen's Compensation Cases (WCC), and consumer cases across various Tribunals and High Courts.

Key Responsibilities:
 

1. Manage and oversee all legal matters related to MACT, WCC, and consumer cases across various Tribunals and High Courts, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
2. Coordinating with panel lawyers representing the company in MACT, WCC, and consumer cases, including drafting and filing of claims, attending hearings, and presenting the company's case effectively.
3. Handle legal matters related to WCC, including claims management, settlements, and litigation.
4. Review and analyze legal documents, contracts, and agreements to identify potential risks and liabilities and propose mitigation strategies.
5. Conduct legal research and stay updated with changes in laws, regulations, and judicial precedents relevant to MACT, WCC, and consumer cases.
6. Initiate out-of-court settlements with the claimants and conciliatory settlements before Court.
7. Processing of Court Award, various Fee Bills of advocates.
8. Advising in the matter of preferring of appeals in superior courts and in the matter of taking recourse to other legal remedies.
9. Collaborate with internal departments, external legal counsel, and regulatory authorities to resolve legal issues and disputes effectively.
10. Provide legal advice and guidance to internal stakeholders.
11. Timely compliance of the orders passed by courts and other regulatory and administrative bodies
12. Manage relationships with external legal counsel, monitor their performance, and provide necessary guidance and instructions.
13. Prepare reports, legal opinions, and presentations for senior management, highlighting legal risks, trends, and recommendations.
14. Stay updated with industry trends and developments in insurance law and provide proactive recommendations to enhance legal processes and practices.

1. Strong knowledge of MACT procedures, WCC laws, and consumer protection laws.
2. Proven experience in handling cases across various Tribunals and High Courts.
3. Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to present arguments effectively in court.
4. Ability to work independently, handle multiple cases simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
5. Proficiency in legal research and analysis.
6. Knowledge of insurance laws, regulations, and industry practices.
7. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external legal counsel, and regulatory authorities.
8. High ethical standards, integrity, and a commitment to upholding professional and legal responsibilities.
9. Strong computer knowledge – Proficient in data monitoring, analysis & representation using Microsoft Office tools.
10. Willingness to travel.
